Weekly Update

Wednesday, 12 February 2014

Hello and welcome to the weekly update.

This week we bring you the pictures from one of our more picturesque winter strolls, a ramble in Derbyshire’s Torside Clough, head on over to the Places to Visit page to check them out. It was good to stretch the legs, and of course enjoy the amazing scenery, but it was also a great opportunity to test some of our new hiking gear. Don’t forget to check back every Wednesday to see what new in our equipment page which will tell all the essentials you need for a Ding-IRL adventure.

With it only being a short day trip, and the local pubs award winning food calling us, we did not get chance to play an RPG whilst there but it was great inspiration for games and no doubt some parts will make it into a game soon. Take a look at our Snowdon game and let us know if you would like to see one for Torside Clough or any of our other trips.

It was also good practice for our wild camping trip which will be on us before we know it, and we will be bringing you details of all the equipment and training we do in preparation. Take a look at previous years trips to Ardtoe and Rannoch Moor, but be aware, this year’s will eclipse them all!

We are not the only ones who are adventurous wild men, we know some of you are as well, so why not send in your pictures and lets us know what epic tales you have of your own.

We are of course bringing you the next exciting instalments of the In Flames game, Game 2, disaster struck last week and it would seem that the characters were killed in a terrorist attack. How did they survive and will they catch who is responsible? Find out here. If you are new to this, you can start by reading our In Flames Review, Initial Thoughts and Game 1 to get you up to speed.

Well, the gaming table awaits, those dice won’t roll themselves so until next time, loyal Ding-heads, I bid thee farewell.

Weekly Update

Wednesday, 05 February 2014

Hello and welcome back to all you loyal Ding-heads! Its seems like forever since our last update, but with Christmas, holidays, work and college courses there has been little time to sit down at a keyboard and record our madness. Rest assured, we are back and we are ready to go!

As promised, we have the first game in our In Flames log for you to enjoy, take a look at how a typical game plays out at our table, learn more about the Flame worlds, or just laugh at our mistakes! We will be bringing you more as the weeks go by.

Once that game has finished we will be introducing you to our new setting for Mini Six, the harrowing post-apocalyptic “Bee-World”. You can follow our progress towards this on the various social media sites and many of you have already joined in the discussion. Hopefully this will inspire some of you to do the same and come up with your own settings, don’t forget to check out our other mini six stuff and head over to antipaladin games, the awesome creators of mini six, for more info and rules for making your own settings.

But we don’t just cover mini six here at Ding IRL, oh no! In the coming weeks we will be bringing you more reviews including some of the games we got for Christmas (light-sabers at the ready people!). We have also been planning our annual wild camping trip for this Easter which should be bigger and crazier than ever before! In preparation for which we have been stretching our legs on some hikes a bit closer to home, so stay tuned next week for the photos. If you haven’t already, why not take a look at some of the places we have already been on our Places to Visit page.

Well, that’s about it for now, until next week, may all your rolls be 20’s (unless you’re playing WoD!).
